VRS offers the seven defined contribution savings plans to help members save for the future. These defined contribution plans are separate from your VRS retirement plan. Select a plan below to get more information or take action now to enroll or manage your account.
A blended defined benefit and defined contribution plan for the majority of VRS members hired on or after January 1, 2014.
A supplemental before-tax and/or Roth after-tax savings plan for state employees and participating political subdivisions and school divisions.

Optional retirement plan for higher education institution personnel engaged in teaching, administration or research.
Optional retirement plan for eligible appointees of the governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and other eligible positions as defined by the Code of Virginia.
Optional retirement plan for superintendents in participating school divisions.
A 401(a) defined contribution plan for eligible personnel in participating school divisions hired on or after January 1, 2014.
